Glasfryn Fawr is a much loved 5 bedroom 17th Century Farmhouse offering breathtaking views towards Cardigan Bay. With large lawned gardens and a private lake you are surrounded by spectacular scenery with the mountains of Snowdonia in the distance. The Glasfryn Estate was the family home of Clough Williams-Ellis whose quirky Italianate village of Portmeirion is only a short drive away.
The superb landscaped gardens are delightful at all times of year and are perfect for children to kick a ball around or for the adults to snooze with a book. The picnic table has been a popular addition. The Patio is perfect for al fresco dining or just to relax with a glass of wine after a long day at the beach. The huge farmhouse kitchen is the hub of the house, has an oil fired Stanley oil range cooker and seating for 10. The large wooden refectory table is perfect for planning the day’s activities.
The main living room is spacious with woodburning stove and squashy sofas (and even a piano for the musicians among us). The small snug sitting room has a woodburning stove and T.V. - ideal for those wanting a little escape. From the snug, a couple of steps lead up to the small double downstairs bedroom and the brand new wet room.
Upstairs are 4 further bedrooms - the master bedroom (the en-suite has handmade tiles by Bronwyn Williams-Ellis) has 2 singles which zip together to make a king size. The other bedrooms layouts are one double and two twins. There is an additional family bathroom.
And the gardens.....they wrap around the house and burst into flower throughout the seasons. The hydrangeas are spectacular and certainly keep our gardener busy!
Glasfryn Fawr's changeover day is Saturday during Summer
