The Farmhouse and Cottage - Eastern Algarve Portugal
The Farmhouse and Cottage are two delightful, rustic hideaways which nestle among carob, oak, olive and cypress trees in a breathtaking area of the unspoiled Eastern Algarve close to the market towns of Loule and Sao Bras. This is the perfect base from which to explore the many attractions of this lovely area. The houses can be rented either on their own, or together if you are looking for an "all ages" holiday for up to 10 guests which will give everybody plenty of room to find their own space.
The Farmhouse with its full size pool and large gardens sleeps up to 6 guests and has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The spacious living room with comfy sofas is perfect for an afternoon snooze. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a separate dining room with a large oak dining table. The three Bedrooms are all decorated with traditional Portuguese furniture which compliments the fresh white bed linen. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and en-suite bathroom, Bedroom 1 has a double bed and Bedroom 3 has twin beds and share the family bathroom. The large veranda is perfect for breakfast or to enjoy a BBQ in the evening. There is poolside furniture and plenty of sun loungers.
The Cottage is accessed through a gated archway which leads onto a lovely shaded veranda. The house has its own fenced and gated pool where you can snooze under the shade of an old olive tree. The star of the show is the roof terrace - wow! - enjoy an evening drink whilst watching the sun disappear over the horizon. Sleeping up to 4 guests, there are two delightful light and airy bedrooms - one with a double bed which leads onto the veranda and the other with twin beds. Each has their own bathroom. The dining area still has the original manger where the cattle once fed.....the kitchen is well equipped and there is a BBQ. There is a little hidden corner among the olive groves at the bottom of the garden.
Thick whitewashed walls keep the houses cool in the summer. Both have good wifi and UK Freeview.
We have an English speaking key holder who is a mine of local information and is on hand should you need anything during your holiday.
There is a bar and restaurant just a 10 minute walk down the lane. We do recommend hiring a car but there is an English speaking taxi driver in the village who can be on hand if you prefer not to drive.
The Eastern Algarve is far more relaxing and infinitely more "cool" than it's western neighbour. The towns are sleepy, the beaches quieter and there is much to explore. Secluded beaches can stretch forever with nobody in sight - take the little ferry to Ilha Deserta (just off Faro) and enjoy your own Robinson Crusoe experience. Centuries old towns with markets and cafes, traditional foods (including of course the pastel de nata) and delicious wines. Loule market is definitely worth exploring with stalls selling regional handicrafts, local produce and freshly caught fish and seafood. Porches Pottery is a famous working pottery where you can see the craftsmen painting their by hand - a great cafe provides lunch (and even carrot cake)...
You can do as little or as much as you like when you visit us but we can promise you that it will be love at first sight.
