About the property
Featured in the Guardian as the perfect retreat, Mountain Cottage is a gloriously secluded three-bedroom stone cottage which blends into its own mountain with breath-taking views across Cardigan Bay. Nestled within a copse of mature trees down a remote mountain track, this rustic gem offers the perfect base from which to explore Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula. Original features, such as a cosy inglenook fireplace, exposed stone walls and ceiling beams, bring traditional character, all complemented by modern elements for that extra touch of comfort.
The living area is the hub of the cottage, featuring a farmhouse dining table, comfy armchairs and snug sofas, while the fully-fitted kitchen offers blissful views over Cardigan Bay. Upstairs, two bedrooms come with Egyptian cotton bedding and cosy blankets, while the attached annexe provides a king-size bed and spacious bathroom. The garden area features a trestle table for al fresco dining, a natural pool for wild swimming in summer and a barbecue area, all surrounded by spectacular views of the Welsh countryside.
Although you are completely secluded, there is much to explore in this glorious area of North Wales. The owner of the cottage is part of the Williams-Ellis family who, of course, designed the wonderfully quirky Italianate village of Portmeirion!
